| Newark, OK, USA, February 4, 2019 - Bauhaus Prairie Art Gallery - Don Bergland is the winner of the First Place Award for his painting titled, "Axiom," a response to the exhibition theme, Text & Image. Bergland's image portrays a stark setting inside of which sits a strange child's cart, with legs holding up children's blocks spelling out the word, God. This is a dramatically powerful image, filled with layers of deep symbolism, metaphor, and archaic analogies. The realistic technique is excellently rendered and the work is sure to leave deep impressions in the psyches of most viewers. The exhibition runs through March, 2019. |
