Dr. Don Bergland is a multimedia artist, radio and video producer,
musician, writer, painter, sculptor, researcher, and educator.
He has a B.A., M.A., and Ph.D. in Visual & Performing Arts
from the University of British Columbia, and is currently a
professor in the Department of Arts in Education at the University
of Victoria.
Former Director of Visual & Audio Arts at Electronic Arts,
one of North Americas largest video gaming & interactive
entertainment companies, he has featured his creative radio
work on the CBC (Definitely Not the Opera), and on Radio Savoy,
a comedy radio show presented on CFUV-FM radio in Victoria,
BC, Canada.
He maintains an active exhibiting career and has featured his
multimedia works, videos, paintings, sculptures, and film in
over 60 major exhibitions and 15 performances in international
venues. His current creative activity involves radio performance
and broadcasting, video and performance art, script writing
and producing, as well as painting, sculpture, and installation.
His artistic work is represented in major corporate and private
collections such as the Gulf Oil Corporate Collection (Alberta),
the Madrona Centre Permanent Collection (B.C.), the Canadian
Utilities Corporate Collection (Alberta), the Timothy Eaton
Foundation Collection (Canada), the Chevron Standard Corporate
Collection (Alberta), as well as in private collections in Canada,
the United States, and Europe.
