VISUAL CONSTRUCTIONS |
These are Studio Narratives related to the production of Visual Images (Paintings, Illustrations, Graphics). As Don Bergland works through a Studio Project, he records ideas, processes, and techniques used in the construction process and documents these in his Studio Journal. Later, he extracts the documentation related to a single product and publishes them on this Project site. |

This was a painting completed in the Victoria Studio. The work has been successfully juried into one international exhibition. |

This is a good example of the process of pure improvisation in composition. The finished painting was successfully juried into one International Exhibition. |

Sanctuary
(Painting) |
This was a painting first started in 2010 and finished in 2013. It has an interesting history. It was successfully juried into an International Exhibition and rejected from another. |

(Painting) |
This was a painting completed during the Naryarit 1 Residency in Mexico. The work has been successfully juried into two international exhibitions. |

Leaving Babel (Painting) |
This was a painting completed during the Naryarit 1 Residency in Mexico. The work has been successfully juried into one international exhibition. |

Tower of Babel (Construction) |
This is an exploration of processes used in the construction of a 3D model of the Tower of Babel. These Tower models were not used for any finished productions and remain in the Library Inventory for use in projects. |

Road To Eternity (Painting) |
This was a painting completed during the Naryarit 1 Residency in Mexico. The work has been successfully juried into one international exhibition where it won an international exhibition award. |

Elysian Fields (Painting) |
This was a painting completed during the Naryarit 1 Residency in Mexico. The work has been successfully juried into two international exhibitions and has won an international award. |

Victorian (Background #1) |
Instructional steps involved in constructing a replication of a segment of a Victorian Painting (Public Domain). This replicated painting is for use in backgrounds in paintings developed in Don Bergland's Pop Surrealist style. |

A painting which appeared in Empire of Belief, a Solo Exhibition with Caladan Gallery. This painting was one of the products resulting from a study of the compositional techniques of Francis Bacon. |

EXPERIMENTAL MUSIC & AUDIO COMPOSITIONS |
The construction of experimental music involves using the same creative "assembly" processes as those used in the image constructions described above. These experiemental compositions are based on the aesthetic principles outlined in the Manifesto of Dark Blues. |

Image Drafing is the process of collecting a rough draft of an image in process and sending it to the Studio Pipeline for Review and Amendment. Documentation on the Review process is in the form of an audio/video/image/text presentation on on Educreations. |
