This
section will show teachers how digital learning products
can include the opportunity for extended investigation
beyond the actual learning resource. It shows how New
Media Products can provide structures which offer access
to activities and resources which extend the learning
experiences beyond the actual product. The Internet
can serve as a primary extension. The ability to set
hot links within the product allows easy access to a
universe of supporting ideas. WebQuest-type adventures
based on the digital product are easy to create and
are part of the current educational environment.
The discussion will also deal with the ability of a
digital resource to provide extension through an accompanying
specialized website community. This expands the active
product user-base and allows the developer to extend
the experiences offered in the resource through the
inclusion further activities and community interaction.
