TEACHER WORKSHOP

4. CRITERIA - SUBJECT MATTER

This section will show teachers how effective digital learning products should provide SUBJECT MATTER which has been made relevant to both student interests and standard curriculum issues.

It will show how good New Media Learning resources can bring about Subject-Matter focus through the use of experiential and game-based structures. With concepts of interactivity and multisensory experience, the ability to evoke student interest is expanded beyond those available in traditional products.

Teachers will also be shown how subject matter can be made relevant to the curriculum and related to the standard subject disciplines (K-12) and their associated themes. In both examples relating to Subject Matter, the product itself should take the initiative in providing the needed elements. Teachers will be shown how to access the resource and find whether subject-related provisions have been creatively dealt with.
