Don
begins development of a productivity website dealing with Audio
in the Classroom. This website will offer constructive
knowledge about implementing audio productivity in classroom
settings. This project will be used jointly by the University
of Victoria Learning Commons and Lesley University's Technology
in Education program in Cambridge, Massachusetts. Launch is
scheduled at the end of October, 2004. |

Don
designs a unique technology workshop for the Continuing Education
department at the University of Victoria. The course, "Taking
Leadership in Technological Administration," offers
school administrators a framework for building a constructive
technological environment. Administrators learn how technology
can enhance education, how to conduct a focused needs assessment,
determine valued productivity skills, choose appropriate software
and hardware options, and be able to construct implementation
models for productivity and professional instruction within
their school setting. |

Don
conducts an intensive 3-day technology workshop in Everett,
Washington called, "Teaching & Learning with Multimedia."
This workshop was delivered to in-service teachers enrolled
in the graduate technology program at Lesley University. He
will return to Everett to conduct the second half of the workshop
in November, 2004. |

Don
works as a consultant with ETI Entertainment Technologies in
shaping a series of workshop lessons for NASA Space Camp presentations
in late October. He has been working as a consultant for ETI
for the past several years and has been instrumental in helping
ETI construct a variety of educational resources for NASA and
the US Space & Rocket Centre (USSRC). |

is selected to deliver a series of international workshop sessions
in 2005 for Lesley University’s Technology in Education
graduate program (TIE). He will be delivering workshops dealing
with "Video as Educational Technology" and
"Multimedia" in Las Vegas, Nevada and Boise,
Idaho. |

is nominated for an international CITE Technology Award which
recognizes innovative uses of technology by teacher educators.
He was nominated in the category of “Exemplary Use of
Technology to Teach Content in a Teacher Education Methods Course.”
The award is presented for an exemplary and innovative use of
technology to teach content in an instructional methods course. |

is nominated for a 2004 Canarie IWAY Award which honours individuals
who have made outstanding contributions to Canada's world-recognized
information society. Don’s nomination focuses on the “Application
of Technology,” a category which showcases those who have
pioneered innovative uses of technology related to the development
of Canada's information highway, or have adapted existing products
or applications in an exceptionally creative manner. The Award
recognizes visionaries who see the future, create the future
and develop it to ensure that Canada's information society grows
and prospers. |
