| In
1993, Don had taken a leave of absence from the University of
Victoria to work as the Director of Visual and Audio Arts for
Electronic Arts Canada, Inc. In this position, he directed two
company departments and led the production activities of 35
digital artists and 17 audio artists. While at the company,
he engaged in a variety of creative initiatives. The Sheridan
project was pursued as an industry-based incentive to recruit
the best young artists in Canada to work for Electronic Arts,
the world’s largest interactive media production company.
This project was initiated by Don as an attempt to approach
Sheridan College, the most vigorous school in Canada which produced
young digital artists. The project went through several interesting
phases but resulted in a promotional kit which included an information
resource book, a recruiting videotape, and a promotional brochure.
The kit was installed at Sheridan and was responsible for a
variety of new company hirings. |
