| Auto
Theft was an national television special featured on CTV during
the fall 1997 programming season. It was written in sponsorship
with the RCMP and ICBC. Don Bergland co-wrote the script with
Colin Yardley and designed the production scripting and direction
with Friday Television Productions. The full feature program
(60 minutes) was a unique challenge which allowed Don to achieve
some national recognition for his video scripting and design
talents. It also allowed him to begin understanding the intimate
relationship between scripting, directing, and actual physical
location production. The program itself examined the rising
tide of automobile related criminal offenses, focusing on auto
theft and used a documentary approach. Topics covered include:
Theft of Possessions, Auto Thefts, and Car Jacking. The show
was nominated for a national television award, the CanPro Television
Award. |
