| In
2001, Don was asked by his university department (Curriculum
Studies) to lead a project in the re-design of the department
website. Don, using appropriate structures learned in industry,
set up a team situation using key members of the faculty and
a group of student producers to build the website using cooperative
principles. Over a period of several months, regular meetings
resulted in the creation of a new website design which met the
expectations of the collective group. The site uses a simple
navigation device which divides department activity into 9 categories:
Home, About Us, Programs, Courses, People, Information, Opportunities,
Resources, and Links. These are easily accessible as a left-side
vertical menu and sub-categories appear as an upper horizontal
menu. Don developed the site using Macromedia Dreamweaver’s
template functions and trained department personnel to be able
to make changes and inputs themselves. |
