| This
project was a major technological innovation led by Don Bergland
in coordination with Corel Corporation, Hunter Studios, and
Zamage Digital Imaging. The project objective was to design,
produce, and implement an online API which allowed users to
upload digital photographs to an external server (operated by
Corel Corporation). Once the photo was uploaded, users would
then use a supplied interface to apply a variety of artistic
effects to the photograph. These effects originally consisted
of pencil, oil paint, watercolor, pastel, crayon, and poster
print. The project was unique for the time. Although digital
image effects were commonly used on local hard drives, they
were just beginning to be explored as online applications. Over
the period of a year, Don and his team in Vancouver worked with
Corel to design the user interface, studio of image effects,
and other image variables which would be part of the destination
website package. |
