has been experimenting with the concept of photo narratives
converted to animated formats. This media technique uses still
imagery as the basis of the story. Voicetracks provide the storyline
and soundtracks provide drama. He has been using some of his
comic concepts, which use sequential imagery, and converting
these to animated formats. The animations are created in Adobe
Premiere and delivered in QuickTime format. The resulting work
can be put online or burned to DVD. Don originally used these
as prototype storyboards which he would later develop using
motion imagery (cameras). He has been presenting these formats
to audiences in the USA. The overwhelming response from audiences
is to leave them as they are. Jimmy Half-Sandwich is the typical
example. Audiences say that the still image animation provides
the appropriate sense of despair the production demands. To
rebuild it using motion imagery would be to lose that original
feeling. |

Half-Sandwich is the tragic story of a man who has a dream
and will not let it go. Although he meets with adversity,
he continues to live his life according to his dream. |
