RESOURCES - DOWNLOADING IMAGES

The ability to download images quickly and easily from the Internet is an essential skill.

- Create a folder
- Access the Internet
- FInd an image
- Download into folder

THE TECHNIQUE

1. Create a new folder on the desktop and give the folder a unique name. It is important to download images into a folder in order to keep work organized.
2. Access the Internet and begin browsing or using an image search engine to find a specific image.
3. When you find an image you want, make sure it is the largest size possible. Sometimes the image is just a thumbnail. By clicking on it, it sometimes enlarges.
4.

Move your cursor over the image. The procedure differs somewhat on the Mac and the PC.

On a Mac
1. On the keyboard, hold down the CTRL key.
2. Left click the mouse. A window will appear.
On a PC
1. Right click the mouse.
2. A window will appear.
5. In the window, move cursor to "Download Image to Disk."
6. A window will appear. Locate the folder you just created on your desktop.
7. Click OK.
8. The image will be downloaded (copied) to your folder.
